The Competitions

One season.
Two champions.

Every WAGC member plays for the Ace of Aces. Their suit plays for the Champion Suit — the Supreme Suit. The Inaugural Showcase runs from 1 January to 30 June, and every card earned across the twenty-six-week season counts toward both — so no round is ever only your own. Here is exactly how a card is won, lost and carried to the Final 26.

Suit championship

The Champion Suit

At WAGC the fifty-two members are split across four suits of thirteen Card Holders. Every card a Card Holder earns counts toward their own standing and toward their suit. The suit that finishes on top is crowned the Champion Suit — the Supreme Suit.

Card Holder positions

Fifty-two Card Holder positions. No more.

Card Holder positions are limited to fifty-two. One Card Holder represents each card in the deck, and at WAGC thirteen Card Holders make up each of the four suits. Once all fifty-two positions have been claimed, the deck is full for the Showcase. Each of the four suits also carries two emergency players — named reserves ready to step in if a Card Holder is unable to complete the Showcase.

Your card

  • Aces High Player Card
  • Season Leaderboard access
  • Eligibility for all season awards
  • Eligibility for The Cut
  • Eligibility for The Magic Showdown
  • Eligibility to become the Ace of Aces

You select the card and suit you want. It is then confirmed — and if that card is already taken, you are offered another choice.

How it works

Every round is measured against Aces High Par.

A card is your identity in the deck. You earn more cards by beating Aces High Par and lose them when you fall short. Only your best score of each week counts, and your best 13 weekly scores count toward the final standings — so the Showcase rewards consistency, not a single hot day. How the weekly best score works.

Stableford

Points against your handicap. Aces High Par is 31 points.

Par / Bogey

Holes won or lost against par. Aces High Par is 5 down.

Nett Stroke

Gross strokes less handicap. Aces High Par is 75 nett.

One round can change an entire season.

Four Joker Events run across the Showcase — one each month from March to June. During a Joker Round every card won or lost is doubled. The bold climb fast; the cautious can fall just as quickly.

The Magic Showdown

At the end of the regular season the top 26 Card Holders qualify for The Magic Showdown. Players carry their accumulated card total into Finals Week, and one final official round decides both champions. In The Magic Showdown every card won or lost is doubled — plus and minus — creating an exciting conclusion. The Magic Showdown Final is played on the first Saturday in July.

The Champion Suit

Every card you earn also lifts your suit. The suit on top of the standings is crowned the Champion Suit — the Supreme Suit — so the two championships run side by side, all Showcase.
